GF/CF Almond Orange Scones
This recipe was derived from the Cheeseboard Collective Scone
Recipe (but modified heavily).
Ingredients
- 1/75 cups All-Purpose Gluten Free Flour
- 2 tsp xanthum gum
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 3/8 cup Xylitol
- 4 TBSP Almond Butter
- 4 TBSP Almond Oil
- 3/4 cup almond milk
- 1 tsp orange extract
- 2/3 cup slivered blanched almonds
- 1/2 cup ground almond meal
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375
- Put first 6 dry ingredients into the bowl of a mixer.
- Mix well.
- Add almond butter and almond oil and mix until chunky mix results (about 2 minutes).
- Add slivered almonds and mix.
- Add almond milk and Orange extract.
- Mix well.
- Add almond meal (a bit more if necessary) to turn the mixturn into a moist dough.
- Let sit 5 minutes.
- Place on parchment-covered baking sheet in golf-ball sized balls.
- Bake 18 minutes.
- Recipe makes 13-17 depending on size.
